I love this:
“He [Jesus] said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.”
(Act 1:7 ESV)
Two things:
- This answer was given to apostles who inquired as to when Jesus would return autonomy, power, control back to to Israel over their own, as they were under the control of the Romans at the time. Jesus’ answer is a direct response to the question, but also cascades over many issues we experience today. Sometimes – we just don’t need to know. Faith.
- It is by the Fathers own authority that he sets the dates and times for these things and that we are notified.
Thank God I don’t have to “project manage” my own destiny.
