As unfortunate as it seems, and in much the same way as there is no sacrifice for deliberate sin1, there is also no forgiveness for those who do not offer it to others themselves2. This is difficult stuff, but is consistent with the priceless sacrifice Christ made. A price, the value of which is upheld by the Father as he refuses to cheapen it by allowing us live in judgement of others, without restraint.
“As” – I forgive others, my Father forgives me…
“If” – I choose not too forgive others, neither will my Father forgive me…
– so all that remains is –
“I will forgive you…”
