In Philip Yancey’s book The Jesus I Never Knew he discusses the Ascension of Christ. Philip notes that this event inspired the coining of the latin phrase - deus absconditus (hidden, or concealed, god). What excited me most about Philip’s explorations of this historically significant event was the [seemingly, with hindsight] obvious conclusion he arrived at; God [...] God is capable of great anger and great mercy…but mostly great anger.
